There
are many people who prefer the ultra-light weight of alcohol stoves (Pepsi can
stove, et cetera) but I have yet to become part of that sensation. If you are
looking to build your own alcohol stove, Randy’s site is the place to
learn how! I boil water. That is the extent of my backcountry cooking, unless
it’s a really short overnight trip and I feel like breaking out the big guns and sautéing some things, making
pancakes, et cetera. I find that no matter what I eat on the trail, it tastes
amazing, and so boiling water and adding it to noodles with some chicken or
summer sausage and cheese thrown in satisfies me completely.
