Griswold the Traveling Gnome ~*~

As Anthony & Kim were walking
through the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania, they
happened upon a poor little Garden Gnome. This Garden Gnome was sad because he
didn’t want to spend his life on a shelf or
in a garden. Tears flowed as he spoke about how the other gnomes shunned him
when he spoke of his dream to travel the world.
Anthony & Kim felt bad for
the poor little gnome and decided to do something about it. For a minimal
adoption fee, he became part of so many people’s lives. Anthony & Kim pondered
over what to name the new family addition. After some deliberation, they
settled on Griswold. Anthony & Kim told
Griswold that he would be traveling the world with them, as well as some of
their other friends. He’d be going from the East Coast to the West Coast. From Hawaii to Madrid and so many
places in between. They promised to take pictures of his adventures to show the
other gnomes that dreams DO come true.
And Griswold
the Traveling Gnome was happy at last.
I welcome you
to have a cup of coffee and join Griswold on some of his adventures. Please be
warned that some photos are graphic in nature and Griswold’s journal writing
leaves something to be desired.

October 2004
I visited the Sear’s Tower in Chicago with Kim, Matt and Miss Sara. I liked Miss Sara a lot. Kim insisted on
holding me high above the city. I didn’t get sick though.

October 2004
We went to the Field Museum in Chicago. I swear to
Gnome God he was like this when I found him. That is not, I repeat, that is not
a lawn ball shoved down his squirrelly little throat.

October 2004
Anthony took me to Hawaii and we hiked
to this waterfall. Hiking is hard when you are only 3” tall. He’s a lot taller
than 3” so I don’t think he understands. At least he let me rest at this pretty
place. I wanted a barrel though...a barrel would have been much more funner.

December 2004
Kim & Anthony brought me to
Spain! Goodness!
I’ve never been in a plane before! We went to this park, El Retiro. I was
scared to fall in but I didn’t. It was foggy but it might just seem that way
because I drank too much last night.

December 2004
Wow! They have really big beers in Spain! They must
be at least 15 feet tall. I did love that bread and manchego cheese though.
MMmm MMmm yummy! I have to write my Gnome friends about this place.

April 2005
Kim brought me hiking
on the Quehanna Trail in Pennsylvania. Nobody
listens that my legs are too little for this. It was bad weather and I was
happy because I didn’t want to be there very much. There were funny people with
us. They didn’t let me have any of the funny stuff they were drinking.

April 2005
Traffic jam on I-80 in Pennsylvania.
I don’t like riding in cars with stinky hiker people. Traffic does
not please me. The mean John-guy driving blamed me for the traffic. That did
not please me too. Kim did not
please me by making me stand here. I am not pleased.
