“So you say you want to go hiking or
backpacking?”
There are
hundreds of excellent books about hiking and backpacking on the market. Whether
you are looking for a biography of a thru-hiker, a source of information when
planning a trip, or just general information, there is a book out there for
you. The following are a list of books that I have read for pleasure or
referenced for information. Most can be found in bookstores or outfitters but
if you are having trouble, I would suggest checking online at amazon.com.
Please note that there are many more books out there other than what I have
listed below, but these are the ones I found particularly interesting or
helpful.
